Planning to extend your stay in Bali? As of June 2025, the Indonesian Immigration Office has reintroduced the biometric registration requirement for all visa extensions.
This applies to all foreign nationals holding a Visa on Arrival, any single Entry Visa with index C, or KITAS.
The biometric process includes photo capture, fingerprints, and a brief identity confirmation at the immigration office in Bali, and it’s now a required step for every extension application.

What Is Biometric Registration?
Biometric registration is a one-time visit to the immigration office where officers will:
- Take a photo
- Scan your fingerprints
- Verify your identity in person
This step is designed to support data security and national immigration control for all foreigners in Indonesia.
Immigration Offices for Biometric Appointments
We will assign your biometric registration to one of the following Bali immigration offices, based on the address in your visa application:
Ngurah Rai Immigration Office (Jimbaran)
You will receive:
- A scheduled date and time
- Your queue number
- Mandatory to attend on time
- Rescheduling is only allowed at least 1 day before your appointment date and only if no overstay occurs
Denpasar Immigration Office
- You can visit any time during working hours after receiving your registration number
- You must inform us of your available time so we can finalize your biometric appointment
What Time Should You Arrive?
- It’s best to arrive by 08:00 AM to avoid long queues
- Immigration officers start calling numbers by 08:30 AM
- Offices usually take a lunch break between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM
- Try to complete your appointment in the morning to avoid delays
Dress Code for Biometric Registration
Dress respectfully and appropriately. The immigration office may deny entry if you are not dressed properly. Follow these guidelines:
- Wear long pants or a skirt
- Wear tops with sleeves (no tank tops)
- No sandals or flip-flops
Avoid hats, sunglasses, or any face coverings that may delay photo processing.
What to Bring on the Day
Here’s what you must bring to your biometric appointment:
- Screenshot of your registration proof (provided by our team)
- Your registration number (sent by our team)
- Original passport (only needed on biometric appointment day)
No Change in Service Fees
Although biometric registration has returned, our visa extension service fee remains the same. The biometric appointment is included in your extension process at no additional charge.
When Should You Start?
We recommend starting your visa extension process in Bali 14 days before your current visa expires. This allows enough time to register for biometrics and avoid potential overstay fines.
