Follow the correct procedure by updating your new address
If you are a KITAS/KITAP holder living in Indonesia and have recently moved to a new address, reporting this change is a crucial step to keep your stay permit valid.
Avoid any legal issues by following the correct procedure as laid out by Indonesian immigration law.
Why You Have to Report Your Address Changes?
According to Article 71 Letter a of Law No. 6 of 2011, foreign nationals are required to report any changes in their residential address to the relevant authorities.
This ensures your information is up-to-date and that your permit reflects your current location.
Failure to comply could lead to fines or penalties, so it’s important to keep that in mind and act quickly.
Documents Needed to Report an Address Change
To successfully report your change of address, you will need to prepare the following documents:
1. Application Letter from Sponsor – Your sponsor (employer or family member) will need to provide a letter supporting your address change.
2. Copy of Sponsor’s ID Card – A clear photocopy of your sponsor’s identity card.
3. Letter of Attorney – If someone is handling this process on your behalf, you will need a Letter of Attorney stamped with Materai IDR 10,000. Also include copies of both the grantor’s and recipient’s IDs.
4. Original Passport and a Copy of Passport ID page – Also include a copy of the page with your latest stay permit stamp.
5. E-KITAS/KITAP – Both the original and a copy of your current stay permit.
6. Domicile Letter from the Lurah or Banjar – This confirms your new address from local authorities.
7. Domicile Letter of Indonesian Spouse (if applicable) –
If you are married to an Indonesian citizen, you will need to include this.
8. Marriage Certificate (for Family Reunification Permits) – Proof of marriage.
